We are a community of Chico State students who are learning about gender activism and want to initiate action around topics that are impacting our lives.
Our mission is to provide different perspectives on a variety of social justice topics in order to encourage our readers to think outside the box. These include topics like: feminism, sexism, racism, environmentalism, and more.
This blog site changes form from semester to semester. On the BYO Voice Blog you can find individual student blogs on a range of issues, but particularly focused on environmental activism and immigration issues.
During spring 2019 students worked in groups in a gender & media course to consider media representations of current gender-focused issues including sexual assault in different contexts, representation in athletics, reproductive rights and the anti-vaxination movement.
We love feedback and we give the public freedom to comment on any of our blogs! We also reserve the right to delete any comments with inappropriate or offensive language or content.
